STEERING WHEEL HUB

Of course a steering wheel hub cannot be missing in our QSP Products steering range. On this page you will find an overview of the available steering hubs that we have for the various cars and vehicles.

If you want to mount a sport steering wheel from QSP Products or another brand, you need a steering wheel hub. Every steering wheel hub that we have has been specially produced for a brand and specific model, so our range concerns a large number of steering hubs for the various cars.

A steering wheel hub is always provided with a pattern of holes that corresponds to almost all sports steering wheels available on the market. Our QSP steering wheel hubs are equipped with 12 holes as standard, which offer a wide range of options for mounting different sports steering wheels from different brands. The pitch circle (PCD) has two cartridges, a 70mm and 74mm cartridge. Of course our own QSP sports steering wheels fit on the steering hubs, but this is also no problem for the brands OMP, Sparco and Momo, among others. This way you are assured of a good universal hub with which you are not brand bound.

How do you mount a QSP steering hub? You must first remove the original steering wheel from the steering column. If you have a car that has an airbag in the steering wheel as standard, you must also disassemble it. When using a sports steering wheel, it is not possible to use an airbag. Also keep in mind that you always disconnect the battery from the car to prevent the airbag from popping out when dismantling.

When you have disassembled everything, the stem is exposed, this stem is equipped with a toothing, also called splaines. When you have chosen the right hub, this hub is also provided with the same pattern. You then slide the new steering hub over the stem. In most cases, a central locknut ensures that the hub is clamped, holding the steering hub in place. For your safety, it is always important to check that the hub is tight.

Airbag?
Please note: when selecting a hub, it is very important that you know whether your car is originally equipped with an airbag! Even if you no longer use this airbag, the splain and mounting of the hub may be different for the same car without an airbag. All QSP steering wheel hubs that are intended for cars with an airbag also come with a QSP airbag-disable kit, to ensure that no lights on your dashboard come on.

Questions?
If you cannot find the correct hub for your car, try to find out if there are other cars of a different make that use the same steering system. For example, the hubs used on a Skoda Fabia with airbag are the same as for a Volkswagen Golf 4 with airbag. For example, the steering wheel hubs for a Volvo C30 with airbag are also the same as for a Ford Focus with airbag.

If you have any questions or concerns about the right type of hub for your car, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our specialists are ready to help you!
